  • Ruth Brown, 75 of Malvern, passed on from this life February 15, 2017. Ruth was born to the late Horace and Lucile Brown in Malvern, AR.  Ruth enjoyed her time in the garden. She also enjoyed crocheting and quilting.

    Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Floyd Brown.

    Survivors include her brother, James (Judy) Brown of Oak Grove; sisters, Mary Brown of Oak Grove; Christine (Don) Robinson of Rockport; and Elaine (Sherrod) Thompson of Royal. She is also survived by a sister- in- law Wanda Brown of Oak Grove. Ruth also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

    Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Alford Cemetery.
    A visitation will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017 at the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel from 6-8 PM. Pallbearers will be Darrell Hall, Charles Burks, Ryan Burris and James Brown, Jr.

    I am so sorry for your loss. While nothing will completely take away your grief, I have found the scripture at Isaiah 25:8 to be especially comforting where it promises that soon God “will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces.” May God comfort you and give you peace in the days ahead. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4.
